The Theotokos is depicted in one of the most loved traditional iconographic presentations - ELEUSA (showing COMPASSION), established in 11-12 C.), where the cheek of child Jesus Christ in embrace tenderly touches the cheek of mother who inclines her head towards her son. The inscription above the left shoulder of the Theotokos represents in Greek the rare hymnographic epithet PANHYMNITOS, meaning ALL OVER GLORIFIED.
